After Germany’s reunification (1990), Neo-Nazi terrorism metamorphosed into what became known as The Baseball Bat Years of the 1990s. It arose during a wave of renewed right-wing and Neo-Nazi killings resulting in over 220 deaths.![]()
Meanwhile, Germany also developed a small group of far-left terrorists. They started as the Baader-Meinhof group. It was followed by the Red Army Faction or RAF. One of the RAF’s last known associates is Burkhard Garweg.![]()
Since 1990, Burkhard Garweg has been accused of being an RAF terrorist. As Germany’s most wanted terrorist, Garweg lingers in Germany’s underground. ![]()
For the first time since the 1990s, the 56-year-old terrorist is speaking out via a letter sent to one of Germany’s main daily newspapers.![]()

Interview with the chairman of the trade union of the KNSB in Maritsa-East mines on the attitude of mine workers to the just transition in the Stara Zagora region, to what extent it offers workable solutions and is fair:![]()
💬 Question: In our conversations and in publications in the media, it has been pointed out that the future of the region after possible decarbonisation is to develop specific industries – mechatronics, agriculture and hydrogen technology. What is your opinion on these intentions? To what extent are they realistic to develop and to what extent are they attractive to miners?![]()
Answer: These are just wishes. Even one construction peg is not placed. One lump of earth has not been moved so that something new can be built.![]()
Our labour is hard physical labour. Everyone would like to go to a better place. If there were such factories, there would not even be a need to make the effort. People would go to the better place by themselves. But there isn’t.![]()
These ideas are the talk of politicians. Let someone show me a project right now for something new in the region. This is talk about absorbing funds.💬![]()

Neo-Nazi AfD became by far the strongest political party with the conservative CDU trailing by a distant 23.6%. If Germany is to hold an election next Sunday, Germany-wide, the AfD would receive about 20% of voters’ support. Throughout Germany, the AfD is the second most successful political party today. ![]()
Yet, many ask “what is the AfD all about?”. Philip Ruch who heads Germany’s “Centre for Political Beauty” argues in his German language book, that Germany has reached a crucial gateway. For Germany, it is “5 to 1933”. Ruch outlines similarities between the year 1933 and today, as well as between today’s AfD and Hitler’s Nazi party of 1933.![]()

What Germany’s neo-fascist AfD plans and how we can stop it

Thomas Klikauer, author of a book on the party called Alternative for Germany:![]()
"Once again, Germany’s election confirmed what many political science studies have suggested. There is a clear link between educational levels and voting for specific political parties.
For example, Germany’s Greens experience high support from people with university degrees. The opposite is true for the neo-fascist AfD. Its supporters are found to have lower levels of educational achievement.
One might also say, that older people voted for SPD and CDU while younger people voted for Die Linke and, disturbingly, for the neo-fascist AfD.
While there is not too much overall difference on gender, slightly more women tended to vote for the progressive Die Linke while somewhat more men voted for the neo-fascist AfD.
Apart from such details, the general conclusion is that the CDU’s plan to keep the neo-fascist AfD at bay comprehensively failed – it gained the most vote, up by 10.4%.
Germany’s conservative made an often repeated mistake. It took on the key issue of the neo-fascist AfD – migration. By doing that, the CDU not just legitimised it but also gave voters the overall impression that migration is the all-defining issue. On that issue, many of these voters voted for the neo-fascist AfD.
In short, pushing a right-wing populist agenda does not return voters. It does the opposite. It pushes voters towards right-wing populism and neo-fascism.
With the kind support of Germany’s conservatives, Germany’s neo-fascist AfD became the clear winner at the 2025 election.
Since the rise of Germany’s true Nazis during the 1930, we know racism and hate can win elections – sadly."
